Gold Seized at Kochi Airport

Aluva: Officials of the Customs Department on Sunday seized five gold biscuits and three gold chains from passengers at the Nedumbassery airport, in two separate incidents.   “In the first incident, Kannur-native Mohammed Thottathil was intercepted while trying to smuggle in five gold biscuits, weighing close to 582 gm, concealed inside an electrical device. He had arrived by Jet Airways flight 561 from Sharjah,” a Customs official said.
