Now caracal falls into the trap of forest department at Indore airport

Indore: After jackals, a wild cat was trapped at Indore airport by the forest department on Tuesday, taking total number of animals caught to six in one month. Apart from the wild cat species, caracal, three jackals and two other wild cats have been netted so far. These animals are a nuisance as they stray into runways posing threat to aircraft. SDO (forest) R N Saxena confirmed trapping of the caracal from grassland area of the airport. "We installed six cages in different areas of the airport and whenever an animal come inside to eat food kept as bait, they are caught in the cage. The operation will continue," said Saxena.
On October 24, a jackal had come between the tyres of a SpiceJet plane while it was taxiing on the runway. The flight was delayed and an inspection was launched.
