Pre-paid taxis at Pantnagar airport soon

Haldwani:  Passengers arriving at Pantnagar airport will soon be able to avail of a pre-paid taxi service and those waiting can grab a bite at its canteen. A team of Airport Authority of India (AAI) arrived in Pantnagar on Wednesday to discuss the matter. According to Pantnagar airport officials, they will get the proposed facilities soon.

The airport does not have canteen of its own till the date. Apart from the lack of canteen, passengers have to rent a vehicle from private owners or make prior arrangements to travel on their own. The team of two officials from the regional office of the AAI arrived in Pantnagar on Wednesday to discuss the proposal.

"The proposals for in-house canteen at the airport and to start a pre-paid taxi service were discussed with the team in a series of meetings. We may get both the services somewhere by the end of this year," said G D Joshi, director of Pantnagar airport.
The issue of parking space was also taken up in the meeting after which the space outside the waiting room of the airport was identified for the purpose.
