New Delhi: The domestic airline industry suffered a total operating loss of over Rs 5,964 crore, including more than Rs 2,874 crore of Jet Airways and Rs 2,123 crore of national carrier Air India, in 2013-14, Rajya Sabha was informed today.
However, budget carriers IndiGo and GoAir and international low-cost arm of Air India, Air India Express, have showed operating profit during this period, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma said in a written reply.
Jet Airways operating loss stood at Rs 2,874.47 crore while its subsidiary JetLite incurred a loss of 464.60 crore in 2013-14.
