Aviation experts to voice ozone concern

Bhubaneswar: Concerned over the depleting ozone layer because of the emission of aviation fuel, civil aviation experts and environmentalists here will discuss measures to be taken to check pollution on Saturday.

Sources said aviation fuel emission, also known as Green House Gas (GHG), poses a potential threat to the environment at the stratospheric level, at the height where most jet aircraft fly.

The Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services (IQEMS) is organizing the workshop. Two years ago, the Biju Patnaik Airport engaged IQEMS, a private consultant and an approved agency of quality council of India, to guide the airport authorities on environment management and studying the impact.
