CISF Constable Seriously Injured in Glass Panel Collapse at New Airport

Chennai: A CISF constable sustained grievous cuts when a glass door lost its handle and the door fell on him at the airport on Tuesday.

Sources said the personnel was closing the glass door at the domestic terminal when its steel handle came off and the door fell on him. He sustained several cuts when flying shards hit him.

“The whole glass shattered. He sustained many cuts,” an airport official said, adding that the constable was rushed to the Airport Medical Centre.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) had  said impurities in glass were the cause of such incidents. This is the first time that the crashing glass panels have actually injured a person.
