Lucknow: Flight operations at Amausi airport were severely disrupted after unexpected foggy conditions— the first instance this season—prevailed at Lucknow airport on Friday. A flight from Delhi remained cancelled and more than half a dozen flights were delayed by more than five hours as visibility dipped dramatically at the airport.
Sources said that the delay in flights was essentially because of bad weather conditions at Delhi airport. The morning Spice Jet flight from New Delhi remained suspended as thick fog enveloped Amausi airport. The flight, SG-213, was scheduled to land at Lucknow airport around 6.30 am. Airlines officials said that the passengers were informed about the delay by SMS and were later sent to their destination by alternate flights.
