Mumbai airport on high alert following terror threat to Air India from Karachi number

Mumbai: Mumbai airport has been put on high alert following three calls of terror threats received by Air India's call center. The calls received which started on Friday have been made from Pakistan.

According to the airport security sources, the first call was received on Friday evening, wherein a women said that an Air India plane will be hijacked using an AK-47 gun, before cutting the call. The intimation regarding the threat call was accordingly made to the security agencies.

Sources said that on Saturday, the airline's call centre received a few more calls from a Karachi number. However, this time the caller claimed to be a gangster and said that the Air India flight will be blown up with explosives.
