Air India and its affiliates have unveiled Requests For Proposals (RFP) for the lease of B737 and A320 aircraft due for delivery from this year onwards. Tender documents seen by ch-aviation show the Indian carrier is looking to dry-lease fourteen A320ceo/neo aircraft with delivery scheduled for between April 1, 2015 and March 31, 2019. Contracts will range from six to twelve years.
The A320-200 (sl) jets are to be powered by CFM International CFM56-5B4/3 engines while the A320neo jets should use either CFM LEAP-1A26 or Pratt & Whitney PW1127G-JM motors.
In its tender for the dry-lease of five new B737-800s, Air India Express (IX, Mumbai Int'l) said it would require the jets for a period of eight years with an option to extend the lease by four more years.
