Indigo's Chennai flight delayed for 7 hrs

Raipur: Nearly 180 passengers travelling on the Raipur-Chennai Indigo flight (6E 383) on Saturday evening had a harrowing time as the flight, scheduled to take off at 7.45pm, departed more than seven hours later at 3am due to a technical snag.

According to airport officials, the flight had left the tarmac on time at around 8 pm but the pilot abandoned the take off after he discovered a snag. The passengers were then asked to deplane and were initially informed that the flight would take off after an inspection by the technicians.

However, since the snag could not be fixed, the flight was cancelled and Indigo staff summoned an aircraft from Delhi for a replacement. Sources said the failure of the airlines staff to provide correct information about the departure of the plane left the passengers agitated and many got into verbal arguments with the airlines and airport officials.
