Bhubaneswar: A 42-year-old driver of a construction firm was found murdered in a rest shed located near the new terminal of Biju Patnaik International Airport here on Friday morning.

Body of Nilanchal Mishra, the deceased, was wrapped in a mattress. It was discovered by Nityananda Sahu, a supervisor of the construction firm at about 8 am.

One of the security guards Mangal Dum, who is untraceable, is suspected to be the culprit. Dum was last seen by a senior official with the Air Traffic Control (ATC), on Thursday morning.

Airfield police said both Dum and Mishra were staying together in the rest shed which was constructed near the CISF barrack by Banamali Rout Constructions, the firm which is carrying out works in the airport area. The duo worked for the firm.

On Friday morning, Sahu came to the rest shed to look for Dum and Mishra. He found the gate open and suspected a theft. Later, he found the body of Mishra wrapped in a mattress inside the shed. There was a deep injury on his head while legs and abdomen regions also bore marks. The death is believed to have been caused by the seriousness of the head injury.
