After 2 years, CBI to register inquiry over hiring of foreign pilots

Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), on a complaint filed two years ago, has now decided to “register a preliminary inquiry” into allegations over hiring of foreign pilots for Air India (AI) through empanelled agencies, which act in tandem with the aircraft carrier and siphon of huge amounts of money with the help of AI officials.

Shashi Kumar Nair, additional superintendent of police, CBI, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), in an affidavit took cognisance of a complaint filed by Yeshwant Shenoy.

Shenoy had, on July 7, 2013, filed a complaint with the CBI director in New Delhi, alleging that money was being siphoned of during the hiring of foreign pilots by Air Indian through agencies.
