67 of 82 farmers give consent to sell land for civil airport to authorities

bareilly: About 67 out of 82 farmers, who own land where the new civil airport is set to come up, have given consent to hand over their property to the district authorities.

After attending a meeting with the local authorities, farmers have agreed to sell the land to the state government at a rate fixed by the officers who would take into account the prevailing circle rate of the said land.

This means the much awaited project may soon see light of the day as the major hurdle of land acquisition seems to be moving fast towards mutual settlement between local farmers and authorities.
