Ahmedabad: A man, allegedly trying to smuggle in 1.248 kg of gold worth Rs 33.74 lakh, was arrested at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international airport here on Thursday by the Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs.
Mohsin Hanif, who landed here from Sharjah in an Air Arabia flight, had converted the gold into thin wires and hidden it under straps of his trolley bag, an official said.
