Passengers of Cancelled Flight Create Ruckus at Airport

Kochi: Keralites travelling to the Middle East countries are going through a harrowing time after the authorities cancelled many flights to Middle East destinations without prior notice, citing adverse weather conditions.

The irate passengers created unruly scenes at the Nedumbassery airport on Thursday when a Dubai-bound flight returned to the airport after flying for about nine hours.

Though the reason for the cancellation of the flight was cited as reduced visibility due to sandstorm in the Gulf, the flight is learnt to have been cancelled after it was not given permission to land in Dubai.

Ameena, a native of Kochi who boarded the Dubai-bound flight said, “we arrived at the airport here at 9 am and boarded the flight after the formalities. The flight took off after some initial delay.
