Thiruvananthapuram: Two women were arrested by the Valiathura police in separate cases on charges of travelling with fake passports, on Wednesday and Thursday here.
According to the Valiathura police, Rejina, 38, of Chungathara in Malappuram district, was held on Wednesday after she landed at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on an Air Arabia flight from Sharjah.
The police said that she possessed an original one issued from the Kozhikode Passport Office in March 2006, which she used to fly to Sharjah in December 2010. However, she procured another passport, using the fake name Bala Patel, and boarded the flight on Wednesday. She allegedly destroyed the fake travel documents based on that passport on the aircraft itself.
