Bhatkal resident arrested for gold smuggling at Dabolim airport

Panaji: Goa customs on Thursday foiled a major gold smuggling attempt at Goa's Dabolim international airport after its officials seized 7.7 kg of gold valued at Rs 2.15 crore from a male passenger.

Goa customs arrested international passenger Sajeed Ahmed Ekkier, resident of Bhatkal, Karnataka, after he alighted from the Dubai-Goa direct flight that landed at Dabolim on Thursday morning.
