Chennai/Puducherry: Even as the Indian Coast Guard, along with Indian Navy, are carrying out a full-fledged search and rescue operations to locate the crew and trace the missing Dornier aircraft (CG-791) with the help of eight ships, sources in the Coast Guard said they “are working on a lead”.
One fisherman, belonging to the village of Sonamkuppam in Cuddalore district, reportedly saw a ball of fire that fell into the sea near Cuddalore on Monday night. Top Coast Guard officials queried the fisherman, Mukesh, on Tuesday evening. Various agencies involved in the search operations are trying to verify the veracity of the claim.
