Poor visibility forces 9 flights to divert

Jaipur:  Nine flights including one international flight were diverted from Delhi to Jaipur due to bad weather in the national capital on Saturday. Union defence minister Manohar Parrikar arrived three hours late in Jaipur due to poor weather conditions. He is here to attend a programme on Sunday.

The first diverted flight arrived in Jaipur at 3.40 pm and the last arrived at 5.15 pm. Once the weather cleared and visibility became better in Delhi the diverted flights began to take off. The first flight departed at 4.40 pm and the last flight at 8.15 pm.

Jaipur airport Air Traffic Control (ATC) was in constant touch with the Indira Gandhi International Airport ATC while handling the diverted flights. The sudden arrival of nine unscheduled flights was well handled by the Jaipur airport which has fewer operations.
