Poor weather in Delhi forces flights to be diverted to Lucknow

Lucknow: Nearly a dozen Delhi bound domestic and international flights got diverted to Lucknow airport following an inclement weather conditions in the national capital on Saturday evening.

According to reports the Delhi bound flights, essentially from Mumbai and Abu Dhabi, flew down into Lucknow airport after being alerted by the air traffic controller (ATC) about the stormy weather conditions in Delhi. Airport officials said that the diversion started at around 3.00 pm in the afternoon and continued till 8 pm.

Airport spokesperson, Sanjay Narain said that in all 11 flights got diverted to Lucknow airport which is a secondary airport to Delhi. Most of the domestic flights were from Mumbai. Amongst the international ones, a Omar airline flight from Abu Dhabi got diverted.
