Kochi: Officials of the Customs Department on Sunday arrested two persons at the Nedumbassery airport while attempting to smuggle 2 kg of gold, valued around Rs 50 lakh. The arrested are Noushad, of Vadakara in Kozhikode, and Sirajuddin of Manjeri, Malappuram. Noushad was intercepted by officials at the exit gate of the arrival hall, based on a tip-off.
