Kochi:Customs officials investigating gold smuggling incidents at the Nedumbassery International airport on Wednesday arrested an employee of the IndiGo Airlines for facilitating smuggling of gold through the domestic terminal of the airport.
The arrested has been identified as Sinuraj T, aged 27, of Mukkam in Kozhikode.
According to the officials of the Special Investigation and Intelligence Branch (SIIB), Sinuraj smuggled in around 14 kg of gold through the domestic terminal of the airport using his privilege as customer security executive.
