New Delhi: The expert panel of the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests permitted promoters KGS Group to conduct an Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) for the proposed Aranmula Airport. The Chennai bench of the national green tribunal had earlier cancelled environmental clearance given to the project. However, the KGS had filed a fresh plea in April 2015. The expert panel who considered this permitted after expressing satisfaction on the explanations given by KGS.
The KGS will first conduct public hearings as part of the environment impact assessment.
