Boarding pass on mobile on trial at Mumbai airport

Mumbai:  The airline boarding pass is on its way to becoming obsolete. Though it will be a while before paperless boarding becomes de rigueur, Mumbai airport has taken the first step in that direction. For two weeks, the city airport and an airline have been conducting mobile boarding pass trials.

A mobile boarding pass replaces the printed paper card an airline issues during check-in. Several airports and airlines the world over began trials with the e-pass more than eight years ago.

Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd (MIAL) has initiated the pilot project with Vistara, the airline that operates domestic flights from the new Terminal 2.
