FLYeasy to start operations in 3-4 months

New Delhi:  FLYeasy, a South-based regional airline, will be airborne in about 3-4 months. The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is currently evaluating the airline’s documents like its operations and safety manuals. The airline will also have to do a route proving flight, supervised by the DGCA, before it is given a final licence to start operations.

Since FLYeasy is a regional airline it will only be allowed to operate within the region where it is based. The airline, which will have its base in Bengaluru, plans to start operations with an Embrarer aircraft which can seat 110-112 passengers.

The initial routes that the airline will operate on are either new or underserved routes, Finn Thaulow, the airlines’ Chief Executive Officer, said on its Web site. The Web site, however, does not name the cities to which it plans to start operations.
