Former LTTE operative, who lost leg in Sri Lankan civil war, arrested in Tamil Nadu for acquiring fake passport

Trichy: Police arrested a former LTTE operative at Trichy International Airport while he was attempting to leave for Switzerland on a fake passport in the wee hours of Sunday.
The Trichy police arrested a native of Ramanathapuram for helping the former LTTE member get the fake passport. They were searching for a man in Chennai for helping him.
A Kumaraguru, 39, a native of North Jaffna in Sri Lanka, was apprehended by the airport police when he produced a fake passport. He was to board a Malaysia-bound flight. From Malaysia, he was to go to Switzerland, police said.
The police caught him on suspicion and interrogated him. They found that he was a former LTTE activist and had got a fake passport with the help of G Thirumurugan (30) of Thiruvadanai in Ramanathapuram district and S Mubarak (36) of Mylapore in Chennai. Thirumurugan was the member of a Tamil outfit, police said.
