Grounded copter may crash Raje's Bihar poll plans

Jaipur: The state-owned helicopter which was lying unused for the past four years in state hanger will impact the travelling plans of chief minister Vasundhara Raje ahead of assembly polls in Bihar. The existing chopper is yet to be auctioned while process of acquiring new would take time for uninterrupted commutation.

After inviting tenders for the jinxed helicopter, government is yet to decide on the next chopper. However, in its absence the arrangement of chopper for CM's use is becoming taxing.

"As and when the need arises, we hire helicopter from private firms. But it all depends on the availability. At times it becomes too difficult to get the choppers because of their unavailability. Good helicopters are very few in numbers," said official of the department.
