Thiruvananthapuram: The State would ask the Centre to allow enhanced State police presence in airports, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala told the Assembly on Wednesday.
The recent incident of firing at the Karipur airport has revealed the need for more personnel of the State police in airports in the State.
Mr. Chennithala was replying to a submission moved by V. D. Satheesan about controlling rising gold smuggling in the State.
