Trujet plans Rs. 500-cr investment on aircraft acquisition, MRO

Hyderabad: As Turbo Megha Airways sets out to launch its Trujet flights to connect tier-II cities in the South, the company is planning its next moves which include acquisition of more aircraft and setting up a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility entailing an investment outlay of Rs. 500 crore.

The maiden flight of the low-cost carrier is slated to take off at 8 am on July 12 from Hyderabad to Tirupati and thereafter connect to Rajahmundry and Chennai from Hyderabad. The initial connectivity is aimed at catering to Godavari Pushkaram visitors and will later add other destinations.

Addressing a press conference here today, filmstar Konidala Ram Charan Tej, Promoter, Director and brand ambassador of Trujet, said the idea mooted by his partners, Vankayalapati Umesh, Managing Director, and Prem Kumar, Director, has become a reality in two years since the initial plan to launch the airliner.
