Customer gets fungus-laden samosa at airport, files plaint

Mumbai: What should you do if you find that the food you have just bought is contaminated and unsafe for consumption? Whatever your reaction might be, if you want action to be taken against the vendor, you must register a police complaint immediately, ensure that the food sample is seized and sent to a laboratory
for testing.

A consumer learnt this the hard way, when the company concerned refuted his allegations. On Monday morning, Aslam Farooqui found fungus in the samosas he bought from a kiosk located outside the arrival section of international terminal 2 of Mumbai airport. "We bought 8-10 samosas from a stall located just outside the arrival area of T2," said Farooqui. A plate of two samosas cost Rs 50. "I bit into the samosa only to find it smelled rotten. When I emptied the stuffing on my plate, it was stinking and grey with fungus. It could have caused poisoning." he asked.
