HAL to Start Op At Nashik Terminal

Bengaluru: The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has signed an MoU with the Maharashtra government to undertake operations at the new terminal building at the Nashik Airport. HAL will utilise the terminal building on a lease of 30 years as the land belongs to it.

The companies that will start services from the airport include Air India, Blue Dart, DHL, Indigo, Jet Airways, Go Air and AI Express. HAL held an airline operator conference showcasing its airport facilities at the new terminal building at Ojhar, 20 km from Nashik.

HAL chief managing director T Suvarna Raju said: “Civilian aircraft operations at Nashik will go a long way in the development of the region in the coming years. Apart from operating the scheduled flights, domestic and international airlines will be able to use this airport for diversion, technical halt and night parking. The movement of cargo directly from Nashik should reduce load on Mumbai airport.”
