New Delhi: Can your alma mater offer you a job out of sympathy just because you need one? The answer could well be in the affirmative, if the institute is India's biggest pilot training institute, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Academy (IGRUA), and your father heads the administrative department.
This is one of the findings of an inquiry into irregularities in appointments at the state-run academy, a report on which was submitted to the civil aviation ministry during the second week of July.
The inquiry was conducted into the appointments of two assistant flying instructors, or AFI, one of whom is the son of the chief administrative officer and the other's father was the chief vigilance officer at the state-run academy, which is run through the civil aviation ministry.
