India has exported defense equipment worth INR 670 crore (US $104 million) that include helicopters, bullet proof jackets, aircraft spares and military hardware to 22 countries in 2014-15.
India has exported forging equipment, electronic assemblies, flight control panels to the US, transmitting tubes to UK and MIG, Sukhoi Su-30 aircraft spares to Russia and Malaysia, DNA news daily reported Thursday.
Other major exports include Cheetal helicopters to Afghanistan, Dhruv helicopters and bulletproof jackets to Nepal, offshore patrol vessels (OPV) and Ammunition to Mauritius and Jaguar aircraft spares and services to Oman.
The government has simplified the no objection certificate (NoC) process encouraging Defense Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) and private sector companies to apply for export orders,” the news daily quoted unnamed defense ministry (MoD) officials as saying.
