Jodhpur: The Jodhpur Civil Airport has deployed multi-layered security arrangements in and around its premises, after alerts were sounded in western Rajasthan's border districts in view of the recent terror attacks in J&K and Punjab.
The arrangements will remain in force till August 20.
"Keeping in mind the importance of the airport and the alert sounded by security agencies in this region, we have put in place enhanced security measures at the airport," S K Singh, director of the airport said.
The airport, controlled by the Air Force Station of Jodhpur, is strategically placed due to its proximity to the Indo-Pak border and deployment of the advanced aircrafts squadrons and surveillance techniques here.
Under the security measures, no person other than passengers would be allowed in the airport during these 10 days.
