Kalanithi summoned in SpiceJet TDS case

New Delhi: A court here issued fresh summons to Kalanithi Maran and S. Natrajhen on Friday for allegedly not depositing in time the income tax deducted from the salaries of SpiceJet employees with the Income Tax Department when they were the chairman and managing director, respectively, of the airline.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Pritam Singh issued the summons to them and the company as no report was filed on an earlier summons in July. The Magistrate directed the accused to appear before the court on September 21. Earlier, Brajesh Garg, counsel for the department, informed the court that the accused did not appear before it after the first summons. Nor was any report on the summons received.
