Protest on tarmac after Spicejet flight to Goa is delayed by 7 hours

Mumbai: About 50 angry passengers sat on the tarmac with their cabin baggage, raising slogans and demanding answers, when a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Goa on Monday was delayed by seven hours. The flight scheduled for 4.05 pm finally left close to midnight.

Over 100 passengers of SG 455 reported for the flight around 3 pm. As they waited at terminal 1B, the display screen only indicated a delay. As the delay stretched on, passengers said the airline kept giving them varying excuses. "We were first told that the aircraft was yet to arrive from Bangalore," Bhandup resident Sneh Malhotra, 47, told Mirror. "Later, they said the flight was coming from Goa. Then we were informed that there was a technical issue with the aircraft."

Malhotra and others claimed that no passenger was given any snacks, even though there were women, children and senior citizens waiting for the flight.
