Surat airport to install aerobridges

Surat: Procured at a cost of five crores, the aerobridges at Surat airport have been long awaiting their flight. Now, with Air India's promise of an Airbus 319 and Airbus 320 to begin functioning from Surat airport, the aerobridges that are suitable for these airplane models be made functional.

These aerobridges were gathering dust since seven months at the DGCA office, Delhi.

Manoj Singapuri, co-chairman of Aviation Committee at SGCCI said, "Since a year now, the SGCCI has been following up for the aerobridges. The entire first floor of Surat airport will get into action with the installation of the same."

Fortunately, as Surat awaits the Airbus version to begin from September, as promised by its politicians the aerobridge issues too seem to have sorted out.
