AI acts against Paris ground handler over 787 snags

New Delhi:  A day after TOI highlighted the plight of a large number of Paris-Delhi passengers who completed their journey in 30 hours due to repeated snags in successive Dreamliners they were supposed to fly on, Air India has decided to act against its technical service provider in Paris.

The airline has served a notice to M/s AWAC Technics over "the poor handling of the situation pertaining to both the aircraft on ground and are contemplating change of our service provider in lieu of this."

The trouble started when VT-ANS, Boeing 787 Dreamliner, landed in Paris on Monday (September 7). It had a snag in computer system. An AI statement said: "The AWAC Technics Mechanic could accomplish the software update only with the intervention of Boeing on site Field Service Engineer. The aircraft was ready on September 8."
