Bird-hit grounds Mumbai-bound AI flight at Dabolim

Vasco: An Air India (AI) flight, carrying 120 passengers to Mumbai, was delayed on Sunday after a bird-hit its engine when it took off from the Dabolim airport runway. Sources said that at around 7.15am on Sunday, AI flight number 886 had taken off from the Dabolim runway. The pilot immediately sensed some problem and asked for permission to land. The passengers were brought out and a technical team of engineers checked the flight. They realized that there was a bird hit in the engine. The plane was towed away and parked for repair.
