CM’s intervention sought to develop Calicut airport

Kozhikode: Greater Malabar Initiative (GMI), formed by industrialists, healthcare professionals and eminent persons to campaign for and promote development of this region, has called for Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s intervention in putting Calicut Airport back on track.

A GMI team led by its chairman Azad Moopen submitted an appeal on this to Mr. Chandy recently, in the presence of Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala and Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty in Thiruvananthapuram.

The appeal sought to point out that if developed, the airport would help promote exports and tourism in this region.
