Frisking issue: Vadra has last laugh

New Delhi: Robert Vadra has had the last laugh in the government's flip flop on keeping him on the no-frisking list, with junior aviation minister Mahesh Sharma clarifying on Thursday night that the controversial businessman will retain that privilege.

Reacting to that, Vadra on Friday posted that TOI news item with a comment: "No frisky for me !! (followed by a blushing emotee)".

TOI had in a report on Thursday shown that the aviation ministry had not got a clear go-ahead from the home ministry (MHA) for removing Vadra from the no-frisking list.

MHA, in its note to aviation ministry, has said that three categories of people — Vadra, special protection group (SPG) protectees and His Holiness the Dalai Lama — have been exempted from pre-boarding security checks "only for facilitation purpose and not on security grounds." The home ministry left it to the aviation ministry to decide on whether these three categories should be in the no-frisking list or not as this issue is in their purview.
