The launch of GPS-Aided Geo Augmented Navigation System (GAGAN) has put India in the elite group of nations in offering space-based satellite navigation services to the aviation industry.
A joint effort of the Indian Space Research Organisation and the Airports Authority of India the GAGAN system has been developed at a cost of Rs. 774 crore, V. Somasundaram, Member (Air Navigation Services), Airports Authority of India said.
