‘Goa airport false ceiling collapse due to AC leakage’

Panaji: Faulty, leaking air-conditioning systems led to the collapse of a large chunk of false ceiling at the Dabolim International Airport in Goa, Union minister for Civil Aviation P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju has said.

On July 18, two passengers were injured after the false ceiling in the security area of the newly commissioned airport collapsed.

“I have been informed by AAI that the incident of collapse of false ceiling occurred due to problems associated with condensation of water from air-conditioning system of the ceiling,” said Raju in letter to South Goa parliamentarian Narendra Sawaikar.
