I am not VIP, remove my name from no-frisking list: Robert Vadra

New Delhi: Amidst controversy over the VIP treatment given to Robert Vadra at airport, the son-in-law of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on Saturday defended himself saying he is not a VVIP or a VIP and added that he has given his consent to remove his name from the no-frisking list.

Vadra, husband of Priyanka Gandhi is exempted from airport security checks when he travels with Gandhis.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Vadra wrote that he doesn't need the privilege and has never used it.

Vadra questioned why is the Centre not removing his name from the list when the analysis disclosed by the government on his threat perception allegedly said that he is not required to be on this list. He added that may be there's a larger conspiracy to malign his image.

The Civil Aviation Ministry on Thursday said it has no plans to remove Vadra's name from the elite "no-frisking" list at domestic airports.
