Mysuru Back on Air Map After 11 Months

Mysuru/Bengaluru: Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, began its service between Bengaluru and Mysuru on Thursday.

Industry leaders, especially those in the hospitality sector, cheered the service as it has started well ahead of the annual Dasara festivities when tourist arrivals zoom.

The first flight carrying nine people, including Tourism Minister R V Deshpande and Revenue Minister V Srinivasa Prasad, landed at the Mandakalli airport at 6.40 am.

The flight took off from Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru at 6 am. On the return journey, the flight departed from Mysuru at 7.36 am with 15 passengers. Deputy Commissioner C Shikha welcomed the guests in the first flight with bouquets.

The 48-seater economy class ART aircraft was given a customary water salute by two fire extinguisher vehicles.  Mysuru airport officials had made all arrangements for the safe landing and Air India posted ground staff, flight engineers and other staff at the ticket counters.
