Pune: Flights from Dubai are keeping the customs officers on their toes at the Pune International Airport. They have to be at their vigilant best even while checking innocuous items like talcum powder containers or innerwear's lining.

Two women passengers were arrested on Monday at the international airport for smuggling 795 grams of gold worth Rs 21.96 lakh from Dubai. One of them had disguised the rhodium-plated gold as the lining of her innerwear. The other had packed a gold sheet inside a duplicate television set.

The customs department's Pune team, led by additional commissioner KP Singh, arrested the women on the basis of intelligence inputs.
