Air services set to start from Ozar airport after months of admin delays

Nashik:  Air services are finally set to take off from Ozar airport after months of bureaucratic hiccups over the transfer of terminal building and government clearances.

The state government and Hindustan Aeronautical Ltd (HAL) jointly built the terminal building at Ozar airport. The state government spent for Rs 84 crore, while the HAL gave its land for the terminal.

In 2014, the state government demanded Rs 1 lakh per month as rent, but the HAL authorities refused to pay the amount. After several rounds of talks, the terminal building was finally transferred to HAL for rent of Re 1 per month for a period of 30 years.
