Mumbai: For passengers using international terminal 2 of Mumbai airport, there's now an app to remove or at least reduce the stress involved in air travel.
The app will tell you if your flight is on time. When you reach the airport, it will guide you like GPS right up to your boarding gate—a first for any Indian airport. In between, if you happen to be passing in front of your favourite store, the app will tempt you with a discount offer. If you lose track of time shopping, it will alert you and show how many minutes you have left to reach the boarding gate, how far the gate is and how long will it take to reach there.
Called Mumbai T2, the free app, compatible with Apple and Android phones, is India's first-ever indoor navigation app with augmented reality feature to guide a passenger through the terminal building. In the coming months, the app would get more ambitious as it will coordinate information from multiple sources to tell you what time to leave for the airport.
