Chennai: The construction of Chennai Metro Rail station at airport is nearing completion.
According to officials of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), the major part of the structural work is complete with only some interior work is pending. “Most of the work has been completed. Only plumbing, electrification and a few other engineering works are still in progress which will soon be completed,” an official said.
This Metro Rail station here is a massive five-level terminal spread over 17,300 square metres and provides direct link for commuters to the airport. With this link, the station becomes the second in the country after New Delhi to have a similar connectivity.
