Kolkata: This festive season, the flavour of Durga Puja is spreading to the skies. State carrier Air India and private carrier SpiceJet has lined up a special Bengali spread during the festival.
Air India will serve on traditional banana leaf mats delicacies like posto murgi, ada lebu bhapa mach, kosha murgi, maachher kalia, mutton dakbungalow, lal murgir jhaal, pulao, chanar paayesh and gurer rosogolla for lunch or dinner on all metro sector flights from Kolkata as well as those to Kathmandu and Port Blair.
The spread during breakfast and hi-tea will include mangsher ghugni, maangsher cutlet or phulkopir shingara, mochar cutlet, mangsher chop, maangsher shingara, dimer ghugni, sitabhog, malpua, mihidana, chhana pora, shankh sandesh, darbesh or chhanar jilipi and gondhoraj lebur ghol.
SpiceJet, too, has designed a traditional Bengali in-flight menu available on the flights going out of Kolkata. Served between Saptami and Nabami (October 20, 21 and 22), the choice of dishes include narkol diye ghoogni, sita bhog, mangsher chop among others for breakfast and misti Bengali pulao, kasha murgi, and phulkopi karaisuti diye moong dal for lunch.
